Announced back in July 2022, Sony’s loyalty program, PlayStation Stars may have a secret tier that still hasn’t been revealed yet. According to recent news, the secret tier can only be accessed through direct invitation from Sony.
PlayStation Stars is a free rewards program that enables gamers to earn loyalty points by playing their favorite games and completing specific challenges. The more loyalty point a participant has, the higher they will climb in the PlayStation Stars tier. But recent news suggests that Sony may not have been fully honest about its tier levels.
In the official announcement, Sony described the program would have four tier levels. By default, all players will start at tier 1. Participants can climb all the way up to tier 4 by completing different daily challenges and earning credits from their purchases on the PlayStation Store. Players who reach tier 4 will receive priority customer support and exclusive “digital celebration collectibles.”
What Sony didn’t publicly share is that there might be a secret fifth tier in the rewards program. Dataminers on Reddit discovered a secret “Diamond Tier” after analyzing some lines of text in the updated PlayStation mobile app. This fifth Diamond Tier is allegedly an invite-only tier.
The description for this recently discovered Diamond PlayStation tier says, “In an endless sea of stars, it seems like there’s nowhere to hide. But you wouldn’t be here if you let challenges like that stop you. Welcome to Level 5.”
Just like previous tiers, the Diamond Tier may also reward participants with a digital collectible from Sony. It is still unclear what type of challenges a participant needs to complete in order to get invited to this classified tier.
The PlayStation loyalty program has come under a lot of fire ever since it was first announced. The program launches on October 5 in America and October 13 in Europe, Australia, and New Zealand.
