Call of Duty: Moden Warface 2 beta has not really been the best launch for the introduction of the perk system and Dead Silence. In a tweeter post, Infinity Ward shared updates and clarified some changes for next week of beta testing.

Earlier this week, Modern Warfare 2 open beta program began, giving the players a chance to try out the game before it gets released in late October. Infinity Ward; the developer requested player feedback from the beta test so that they can update and improve the game upon release.
Gamers found some annoying issues with enemy footsteps and minimaps while testing the game. A game feature called “Dead Silence”, which removes noise from player’s footsteps did not seem to work properly.
Beta testers demanded to make “Dead Silence” a perk in order to the counter campers. But Infinity Ward chose to make it a “Field Upgrade” rather than “Perk” which annoyed many people.
Perk system in recent Call Of Duty games has been somewhat questionable. Infinity Ward revamped the old perk system with a new one. They believe the new system would make the game much more balanced than the previous one.
Beta testers also raised some red flags concerning the minimap of the game. In MW2 beta, the minimap does not show red dots when enemies fire without a UAV in the air. The same feature was also present in MW2019. Even though gamers didn’t like this controversial feature, Infinity Ward chose to keep it for this beta of their upcoming Call of Duty game.
Call Of Duty: Modern 2 releases for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S on 28 October.
