Sony just added a new trial catalog that allows its PS Plus Premium subscribers to try out games that were released earlier in 2022. Subscribers can play the games for a short amount of time before actually buying them.
Letting players play a selection of games for a specific period of time is probably the most unique feature of the PS Plus Premium subscription.
Currently, PS Plus Premium members can try out popular games like Cyberpunk 2022, Horizon Forbidden West, Uncharted: Legacy of Thieves Collection, and many more without any extra charge.
Yesterday, Sony added another popular game to the trial catalog. Premium subscribers can now download and play Dying Light 2 for up to three hours without paying additional charges. Many players faced motion sickness while playing the new Dying Light game. The trial will allow players to test the game first hand and see if they are affected by this issue.

It seems as though the trial duration for games is not fixed. For instance, players can download up to three hours of Dying Light 2 trial as opposed to being able to download five hours of trial for Horizon Forbidden West and Cyberpunk 2077. We are still unclear why the trial period varies from game to game.
Sony introduced PS Plus subscription plans in 2010 in order to compete with Xbox Live Gold. With a yearly cost of $119.19, PS Plus Premium is the highest tier among PS Plus subscription plans. PS Plus Premium subscribers can enjoy unlimited access to all PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 exclusive titles.
Moreover, the Premium tier also includes PS Now subscription. PS Now is a digital game-streaming service that allows players to stream old PS1, PS2, PS3, and PSP titles to PlayStation 4 and 5. Players can also transfer data from the original game to their new console.
It will be interesting to see if Sony decides to add trials for upcoming AAA games. A trial feature for upcoming titles like God of War Ragnarok and Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 will greatly benefit the players.
